Movida Bar de Tapas, Melbourne CBD

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on May 20, 2013

Melbourne’s a fascinating place. It’s full of arts and culture around every corner. Melbourne’s graffiti filled lane ways is world renowned and one of the most celebrated of them all is Hosier Lane in the CBD. It houses some of the most colourful and well executed urban art you will find around and is also where Movida calls home.

Chez Dre (revisited), South Melbourne

May 8, 2013 Breakfast/brunch

May 3, 2013 Breakfast/brunch

When I started my bottle shop in the north, I was worried that I will no longer be able to eat brunch like I used to. For one, there’s no time (or more like I’m too lazy to get up early…). The more important part was there just doesn’t seem to be as many hip [...]

Most Asian restaurants I’ve been dining at recently have been fast food or close to it. There is one exception, and that’s U-Village in St Kilda. When I was given the chance to dine there as their guest, I was a little unsure as to what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

It’s always difficult to travel to a foreign country when you don’t speak the same language. You might be able to flip open a guide book, a translator or even bring a friend who can help you but there are always a lot of unknowns. If you’re one who doesn’t like to take those risks, [...]

To my dear readers, did you all have a good Valentine’s Day? I did in a way. Although there was no romantic dinner, lavish presents or even being relaxing at all, I did spend it with my beloved (not that I have a choice) and kept myself busy in the shop. I even set up [...]

Kinfolk, Melbourne CBD – a cafe with a good cause

February 4, 2013 Breakfast/brunch

How many cafes do you know that can make you reminisce about your childhood? How many cafes do you know that are run by volunteers and donate money to charitable causes? How many cafes can do both AND make delicious coffees and healthy bites? I only know one and that’s Kinfolk on Bourke St.
