Yuye and I met up with an old friend from high school and university the other day. He’s been studying an MBA course in Singapore for a long time and we were both excited to see him come back for good. Although we hadn’t spoken for a long time, most of our conversation ended up being about coffee and photography! He said the worst thing about being overseas is the lack of good coffees. I just couldn’t agree more.
He had been drinking 3 coffees a day since he got back and has even put together a whole coffee trying planner. This really made me feel lucky to be part of this wonderful city where good coffees are in abundance and for a very reasonable price too.
As part of our first get together, the 3 of us went to 2 coffee places in one go! One of them was a small coffee only shop called Little Bean Blue. The first thing I noticed about this shop were the blue chairs, I wonder whether the chairs came first or the shop name?
I loved the decor of the shop with its interesting hanging lights, coffee brewers and even a big blackboard full of ‘how to brews’. Waiting for your coffee will never be boring here, even though the coffees don’t take long to come out.
There aren’t very many seats inside so most of the patrons have their coffees take away. I always think its such a waste because you won’t get to see the lovely coffee art! I ordered a latte and it came with the most lovely art. I want to be able to make them like these one day.
Yuye ordered a cappuccino and came with a similar design. Both coffees tasted great as expected because Little Bean Blue gets their coffee beans from Seven Seeds and Proud Mary, both of which roast wonderfully aromatic coffees and are popular choices for many cafes around Melbourne. I did think the coffees were quite small though, quite a bit smaller than all the other cafes I’ve been to. This was probably the reason why I was able to fit in another coffee right after.
My friend sent me his coffee planner when he got home. I will be going through them eventually, but there are just so many cafes to try! It’s somewhat exciting.

I agree! I wouldn’t want to get takeaway and miss out on the coffee art either
Beautiful works of art!
Are this blue sits metal? Interior looks amazing. I’ve visited some nice cafes in Melbourne a couple of years ago, but not this one. Looks like a good place.
I’ve never actually had a full cup of coffee before so my mind is boggled by the 3 your friend takes, lol. Looks like a great spot!!
I hope you had an amazing weekend, my friend!

Perfect coffee place… I love how they illustrate how the coffee gets brewed… awesome.
once cup please.
If I ever visit Melborne one day, would you take me to the best and your favorite cafe? I’ve been enjoying seeing so many of great coffee shops from your site. I truly wish that I can go there one day…
