Movida Bar de Tapas, Melbourne CBD

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on May 20, 2013

Melbourne’s a fascinating place. It’s full of arts and culture around every corner. Melbourne’s graffiti filled lane ways is world renowned and one of the most celebrated of them all is Hosier Lane in the CBD. It houses some of the most colourful and well executed urban art you will find around and is also [...]

Chez Dre (revisited), South Melbourne

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on May 8, 2013

I don’t think I’ve ever posted a revisit to any restaurant or cafe, even if I do go there a lot. I just feel like there’s generally not much more I can offer in terms of new information or photos to my readers, that is, unless if there’s a significant change to what we had [...]

Aura Cafe, Templestowe

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on May 3, 2013

When I started my bottle shop in the north, I was worried that I will no longer be able to eat brunch like I used to. For one, there’s no time (or more like I’m too lazy to get up early…). The more important part was there just doesn’t seem to be as many hip [...]

U-Village, St Kilda

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on April 29, 2013

Most Asian restaurants I’ve been dining at recently have been fast food or close to it. There is one exception, and that’s U-Village in St Kilda. When I was given the chance to dine there as their guest, I was a little unsure as to what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Sake Restaurant & Bar, Melbourne

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on March 11, 2013

Since I started the liquor business I haven’t really had the time to visit the city much so I was enwrapped when I was invited to sample the menu at Sake Restaurant & Bar one summers night a few weeks ago at the newly revamped Hamer Hall at the Arts Centre.

Mart 130, Middle Park

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on February 18, 2013

To my dear readers, did you all have a good Valentine’s Day? I did in a way. Although there was no romantic dinner, lavish presents or even being relaxing at all, I did spend it with my beloved (not that I have a choice) and kept myself busy in the shop. I even set up [...]

Kinfolk, Melbourne CBD – a cafe with a good cause

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on February 4, 2013

How many cafes do you know that can make you reminisce about your childhood? How many cafes do you know that are run by volunteers and donate money to charitable causes? How many cafes can do both AND make delicious coffees and healthy bites? I only know one and that’s Kinfolk on Bourke St.

Jam For Joe Cafe, Blackburn

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on January 20, 2013

I had a sudden revelation recently. I think I’ve run out of new cafes to visit in my area! Oh what a dilemma. It doesn’t help that I live in the outer suburbs where there’s not all that many shops to begin with. At times like this I really wish I lived in or near [...]

Monga Izakaya (sweets & sake bar), Glen Waverley

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on January 15, 2013

It was not long ago that Yuye and I were discussing just what restaurants Glen Waverley needed. It’s starting to turn into Malaysia town with my favourite Hong Kong style cafe, Star East Cafe, closing not too long ago. What’s opening in its place I hear you ask? Pappa Rich that’s what. So hence my [...]

Henry and the Fox, Melbourne

by Jenny @ Ichigo Shortcake on December 13, 2012

I realised I’ve left writing about Henry and the Fox until a bit too late. Their entire menu had changed since my visit but it would be such a waste to not blog about the place that I decided I’d go ahead and write about my experiences anyway. I might write an updated post after [...]
