How many cafes do you know that can make you reminisce about your childhood? How many cafes do you know that are run by volunteers and donate money to charitable causes? How many cafes can do both AND make delicious coffees and healthy bites? I only know one and that’s Kinfolk on Bourke St.

If you live in Melbourne, you would have no doubt walked or driven past this shop in the CBD that glowed a bright orange colour, not from neons but from fresh oranges hanging outside the shopfront. It has been like this ever since I can remember and that shop is Tropicana Juice/Food Bar.

I love visiting restaurants I haven’t been to before. Since I turned ‘foodie’, this has been happening a lot more, both for content purposes and since I’ve learnt to appreciate various cuisines and love the excitement of finding hidden gems. As a result of this constant trying of new places though also comes the occasional [...]

Have you ever tried copy and pasting a word 20 times into Google Translate and making the AI repeat it in different languages? If you haven’t, you might not want to try it as it drove me up the wall when Yuye did that a few weeks ago using the words ‘Pope Joan’. I found [...]

My head was spinning and my stomach was churning. I felt like I had just chugged down a litre of slightly warm milk and GOSH can I actually be lactose intolerant without knowing about it for 28 years? Or am I just terrible at drinking more than one dose of caffeine a day? After having [...]

Yuye and I faced yet another day of undecidedness this week. Specifically, we weren’t sure where we could go for lunch before I started my first styling class at RMIT. As we were heading into inner city, the choices exponentially increased. Then we remembered. Wasn’t there a place we wanted to dine at last time [...]
